Garden Focus Areas

There are a lot of different garden types. There are gardens that get full sun, shaded gardens and gardens that get morning sun or afternoon sun. All these types of gardens require you to plant them for the type of sun they receive.

The gardens for shady areas require you to use the plants that require hardly any sun. Very often plants do not grow well in shaded areas. One of the plants that grow very well in the shade is Impatiens. These are very colorful flowers. There are flowers that are very good for dry, shaded areas. The flowers include Epimendiums and also Lamiums, these have very pretty flowers and leaves.

There are a lot of plants for the sunny areas. The sunnier your yard is, the better. Gardening in the sunnier parts of your yard requires you to give plants a lot of water. Roses, Butterfly Bush, Daises, Lilies and Lavender grow nicely in sunny areas. These are very good plants that offer a lot of color and texture to your garden.

The morning sun is generally good for gardening sites. This is especially good for roses and broad-leaf evergreens. They often get partial shade in the afternoon. The afternoon sun, which is considered the western exposure, may be warmer than other exposures due to the intense sun and the radiant heat. Drying winds may cause a problem. This is good for plants that thrive on intense sunlight and dryness. Some other plants may require more water and mulch.
