Training a Clematis

Clematis comes in different colors and sizes of flowers.  They are a vine and like to climb even on the ground.  You can use lattice or any kind of cast iron trellis that will help the clematis climb on.  To have them attach to your material you can tie them loosely (I use stockings they are soft and won’t hurt the plant).

The long thin arms grab on to your lattice or trellis and will keep climbing to the sun.  The flowers like the sun but the roots like to be cool.  Placing your clematis in a corner where it would get morning sun work out great.
